DIY WEDNESDAY: Kitchen Cabinet Project

On Friday I decided, gosh darnitt...I am going to paint the kitchen cabinets white!
Our kitchen was in dire need of updating.  I didn't like how dark the wooden cabinets made everything, and I wasn't a fan of the stain.  And, around the ceiling is a <<GAG>> ugly wallpaper border.
So on Friday I drove on over to The Home Depot, got my supplies and started painting!
Here is a sort of before as I had already started the bottom corner:

Here I am moving on to the top shelves in this corner:

And here is the ugly border...I seriously despise it
And here are the remains of the border along the one wall...goodbye border, I didn't love you.
 Here I am...painting away!

I am close to finishing this side of the kitchen.  Then I will only have the side by the refrigerator left to go.  I am getting close, and am getting anxious to finish.
However, starting this project revealed two other kitchen projects that will immediately follow the painting.
1) Painting the laminate countertops to look like granite
2) Ripping off border, and re-painting wall underneath <<ugh, more painting>>

I will keep you posted as to my progress!  I won't be revealing the entire kitchen in completion until, well, until it is completed :)

@Jenna (SewSavoirFaire) Thank you! I am basically painting, eating, sleeping, painting, going to work, painting, eating, sleeping, painting, going to work, painting...I want it to be over! :)

@Rachel J I know! How do you decide that that is okay? I guess it's all personal opinion, but in my personal opinion, that design should be outlawed!

Ah... the dreaded honey oak stain... we have it too, and all I can say is ewwww... I hate it. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to paint our cabinets. Like REALLY. But my dad think's its dumb to paint such 'beautiful' wood. ewww.... Yours is looking good!

@Alyssa - Live, Love, Craft My hubs was the same way at first...then I convinced him with a few picture of other I told him that it was still the same wood...just with a little facelift :)
